One of the latest bits of news involving the Lotus team was that Kimi Raikkonen would not take place in the last two races, so he could undergo back surgery on Thursday. (Today.) - The Fin has been in pain due to a back injury and was desperately needing to get this taken care of by surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery has come before the last race of the season.
So, Raikkonen will not compete in Austin or Brazil - But, taking his place will be another familiar Fin! Heikki Kovalainen, former Caterham driver in 2012. Not only will he be racing in Raikkonens place, but there are rumours that Heikki will make a return to Caterham in 2014, and most likely partner Charles Pic or Giedo Van Der Garde.
More to come on the subject later on next week or so.
