Japanese GP: Free Practice 1 - Re-Cap & Results

The first free practice session of the weekend was stalled by the weather quite a bit, although not delayed. Many drivers were unable to set times and there was limited running.

    Carlos Sainz was the lucky driver to end the session on top, while Mercedes didn't end up having a 1-2 finish for the session. While the rain was partially to blame, it also seemed the team was lacking pace.

    Of course, things were also very somber as this is the teams' first time back since last year, when Jules Bianchi crashed during the race. The teams and drivers have noted that he is always on their mind and that the race weekend would be tough.
