Gasly Confirmed At Red Bull

RED BULL CONFIRMS PIERRE GASLY

    Red Bull has confirmed Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly will make the step up to the senior team in 2019.

    The GP2 champion, who made his Formula 1 debut in Malaysia last year, replaces Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull as the Australian moves to Renault next season.

    Heading into just his second full season in F1, Gasly said he was excited about the opportunity but admitted his promotion would be a challenge.

    “To be awarded a drive at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing from 2019 is a dream come true for me, I’m so excited to be joining this top team,” he said.

    “It has been my goal to race for this team since I joined the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme in 2013, and this incredible opportunity is another step forward in my ambition to win grands prix and compete for world championships.

    Red Bull has always looked to fight for championships or victories and that’s what I want. I’m a really competitive guy and when I do something it’s always to fight for the best and top positions.

    As hugely exciting a moment as this is, I am fully aware of the challenge this special opportunity offers me and the expectations that faces any driver at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

    I’m looking forward to rewarding the faith that Dietrich Mateschitz, Christian Horner, and Dr Helmut Marko have placed in me.”

    He added that he will continue to push hard for top results during his remaining time with Toro Rosso.

    Since joining the F1 grid, Gasly has taken three points finishes, including Honda’s top result of a fourth place finish in Bahrain.

    Team boss Christian Horner added that these results helped convince the team Gasly was prepared for the promotion.

    “Since Pierre first stepped into a Formula 1 seat with Scuderia Toro Rosso less than a year ago, he has proved the undoubted talent that Red Bull has nurtured since his early career,” he said.

    “His stellar performances this year at the Honda-powered team, in only his first full season in Formula 1, have only enhanced his reputation as one of the most exciting young drivers in motorsport and we look forward to Pierre bringing his speed, skill and attitude to the team in 2019.”

Red Bull Launch 2018 Car With Testing Livery

    Red Bull Racing has launched its 2018 challenger at a filming day at Silverstone.

    The Milton Keynes based squad usually reveals its latest car as late in the winter break as possible, but opted for an earlier launch this year to better prepare for preseason testing.

    Like the latest Williams, the RB14 appears to feature something similar to the now out-lawed shark fin on the engine cover, Red Bull is keeping with tradition in revealing as little as possible.

    The new car sports a special camouflage livery but the familiar red, blue, and yellow colour scheme is expected to return after pre-season testing.

Verstappen To Stay At Red Bull Through 2020

VERSTAPPEN EXTENDS RED BULL CONTRACT

    Max Verstappen has been confirmed at Red Bull Racing through the 2020 season after extending his contract with the Austrian team.

    It had been rumoured recently that the young Belgian-Dutch driver might be making a potential move to Ferrari in the coming years, but his new Red Bull contract extension quickly put those rumours to rest.

    Verstappen has already won two races this year, the first in Malaysia and the second just a few weeks ago in Mexico. He also has two other podium finishes under his belt this season. With 2 races left of the 2017 season, he's looking at 2 more chances to be holding a trophy before the long Winter break.

    Partnering Verstappen in 2018 will be current team-mate, Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo's Red Bull contract expires at the end of 2018 and it's rumoured that the team may be letting him go in favour of someone else, although not too many names have been thrown around just quite yet.

Aston Martin Confirmed As Title Sponsor For Red Bull Racing

RED BULL SECURES ASTON MARTIN AS TITLE SPONSOR

    Aston Martin hasn’t ruled out supplying engines to Formula 1 teams as it reveals it will be Red Bull’s title sponsor in 2018.

    The car manufacturer is stepping up its involvement with Red Bull Racing after starting an “Innovation Partnership” with the team in 2016. More than 100 Aston Martin staff will move to Milton Keynes to work on “innovative, new projects” but it’s understood it that won’t include becoming an engine supplier. Yet.

    “The power unit discussions [in F1] are of interest to us, but only if the circumstances are right,” said Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer. “We are not about to enter an engine war with no restrictions in cost of dynamometer hours but we believe that if the FIA can create the right environment we would be interested in getting involved.”

    Rumours Red Bull is looking for a new engine supplier have spread after sister team Toro Rosso ended its contract with Renault early to move to Honda power.

    Aston Martin has no history in modern F1, but has taken success in the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Red Bull Reveal RB13

RED BULL REVEAL RB13

    Red Bull have launched the car most expected to bring the challenge to Mercedes this season.

    The RB13 marks the team’s 13th season in Formula One and is oddly simplistic for such a highly anticipated car.

    Like all the 2017 cars launched so far, the RB13 features a shark fin on the engine cover. Unlike all the 2017 cars launched so far, Red Bull have opted for an interesting nose. The elongated nose has a hole in the tip.

    Is this the car to challenge Mercedes? Probably not, no.

    We’ve yet to see any of the 2017 cars driven in anger, but it’s widely anticipated Red Bull will be the closest to the Silver Arrows this season. However, the Renault engine could be their let down. The team say their power unit has 900 BHP, whilst Mercedes claim to be close to 1000.

    What’s more, the car Red Bull has launched is most likely missing a lot of areo features, especially in front of the side pods, which we’ll likely not see until testing begins in Barcelona. The car that shows up to race in Melbourne will probably be pretty different to the one we’ve been shown.
