With FP1 over and completed it was time to move on to the second session of the last F1 weekend of 2014.
This session did not start out well for Adrian Sutil. He sat out the first session as Adderly Fong drove his C33, and then at the start of this session, he had a huge off-track moment, before reporting that he'd had a brake disc failure. After a change of the front brakes, he was able to get back out, but every minute lost in a session is precious time.
There was an early yellow flag when Fernando Alonso's Ferrari stopped on track. Once the marshals pushed it off track, the session resumed. However, it was session over for Alonso. Also unlucky was Jenson Button, who'd sat out most of FP1 due to a mechanical failure. He was able to get out this time about 30 minutes in.
The rest of the session went along pretty smoothly and it was another Mercedes 1-2. Here are the rest of the times.
