Pre-Season Test #2 - Barcelona Day 4 - Times & Re-Cap

With no rain in sight, the last day of the first test at Barcelona got underway. Nico Rosberg was first to cause Red Flags when he spun out into the gravel much like Sebastian Vettel did in the Ferrari the previous day. Mercedes were able to get Rosberg out a half hour later with no serious damage to the car.

Sauber was delayed for the morning session due to mechanical issues. Nasr had stopped in the pit-lane and later towards the end of the day, the car stopped on track.

Right before the AM session was over, Fernando Alonso was involved in a heavy crash when the McLaren hit a wall in a run-off area of the track. Alonso was OK and conscious after the accident and was taken to a local hospital. He has suffered a concussion and is remaining in the hospital overnight.

McLaren discontinued their running for the day after the accident but had originally planned for Jenson Button to take over in the PM session.

Carlos Sainz later crashed in the same area and was taken to the track's medical center and was cleared to leave shortly after.

Here are the final times from Day 4:

1. Romain Grosjean - 1:24.067 / Lotus-Mercedes
2. Nico Rosberg - 1:24.321 / Mercedes-Mercedes
3. Daniil Kvyat - 1:24.941 / Red Bull-Renault

Pre-Season Test #2 - Barcelona Day 1 - Times & Re-Cap

Lots of action during the first day of testing and some drama as well.

Things started out well for McLaren-Honda when they were able to run smoothly in the AM session. However, their day ended early when something went wrong with the ERS.

Pascal Wehrlein, who is the Mercedes-Mercedes reserve driver, got to take the Force India out in the AM session and was expected to drive for the rest of the day as well, but a flu-stricken Lewis Hamilton was unable to continue on driving so Pascal was called up to drive for Mercedes in the PM session. Sergio Perez was then called up to drive for Force India.

Lotus endured a few problems when the car stopped twice, causing Red Flags. The team was able to get the car going again both times and Pastor Maldonado finished the day fastest on the time sheets.

Later in the session, Susie Wolff who was driving in the Williams, collided into Felipe Nasr in the Sauber, sending them both spinning into one of the gravel traps. It made unnecessary work for both teams.

Here are the final times from Day 1:

1. Pastor Maldonado - 1:25.011 / Lotus-Mercedes
2. Kimi Raikkonen - 1:25.167 / Ferrari-Ferrari
3. Daniel Ricciardo - 1:25.547 / Red Bull-Renault
4. Sergio Perez - 1:26.636 / Force India-Mercedes (PM Session)

10. Susie Wolff - 1:28.906 / Williams-Mercedes
11. Lewis Hamilton - 1:30.429 / Mercedes-Mercedes (AM Session)

Pre-Season Test #1 - Jerez Day 3 - Times & Re-Cap

Day 3 of testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain was another eventful day. Luckily there was no more rain, although the track surface was quite damp and slick. The first Red Flag was actually caused when Nasr had a spin in the Sauber and got stuck in the gravel trap.

McLaren looked to be making progress and Alonso had racked up quite a few laps until something with the water pressure forced the team to call it a day. Lotus was facing telemetry issues which limited their running most of the morning. Mercedes also dealt with problems when Nico Rosberg stopped on track, causing the second Red Flag of the day. Red Bull had to change the engine in their car as well.

However, despite Felipe Nasr's small spin in the early morning, the young Brazilian ended the day on the top of the time-sheets.

Here are the times from Day 3:

1. Felipe Nasr - 1:21.545 / Sauber-Ferrari
2. Kimi Raikkonen - 1:21.750 / Ferrari-Ferrari
3. Nico Rosberg - 1:21.982 / Mercedes-Mercedes
4. Felipe Massa - 1:22.276 / Williams-Mercedes
5. Pastor Maldonado - 1:22.713 / Lotus-Mercedes
6. Carlos Sainz - 1:23.187 / Toro Rosso-Renault

Pre-Season Test #1 - Jerez Day 2 - Times & Re-Cap

It was another successful day of testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain. Some teams had a clean and easy day while others struggled with mechanical issues. The weather also made things a bit tricky when it began to rain about 4 hours into the session.

Lotus had arrived and Pastor Maldonado, who didn't get to drive on Day 1, was able to finally get the E23 out on track and take it around for a total of 41 laps.

As for Red Bull, their day of testing was made tricky when Daniil Kvyat had a small off and the front wing was damaged. They continued to run the car without the front wing but Kvyat never set a timed lap. This was also the only front wing Red Bull had brought to Jerez, but they plan to have a new one delivered.

Here are the final session times from Day 2:

1. Sebastian Vettel - 1:20.984 / Ferrari-Ferrari
2. Felipe Nasr - 1:21.867 / Sauber-Ferrari
3. Valtteri Bottas - 1:22.319 / Williams-Mercedes
4. Lewis Hamilton - 1:22.490 / Mercedes-Mercedes

Pre-Season Test #1 - Jerez Day 1 - Times & Re-Cap

F1 is officially back.. Well, sort of. The first race of the year might not be until March, but Winter Testing has begun and it's time to re-cap day 1 of Jerez.

Both Mercedes and Williams launched their 2015 livery in the pit-lane, while later on the new Red Bull was driven out of the garage by Daniel Ricciardo, showing off the special "Test-Livery" which included the car sporting a black and white "camo" paint job.

Lotus was absent for the day as they were still in the midst of shipping their things to Jerez. They're currently unsure if they will run on Monday either.

What we know so far from testing is that the cars seem to he having less issues than seen in 2014's pre-season test, which saw quite the amount of cars stopping on track.

Force India, as many know have opted out of running at Jerez. Also absent are Marussia and Caterham and it's uncertain if they will be able to make 2015's grid after multiple financial issues.

Here are the times from Day 1:

1. Sebastian Vettel - 1:22.620 / Ferrari-Ferrari
2. Marcus Ericsson - 1:22.777 / Sauber-Ferrari
3. Nico Rosberg - 1:23.106 / Mercedes-Mercedes
4. Daniel Ricciardo - 1:23.338 / Red Bull-Renault
5. Valtteri Bottas - 1:23.906 / Williams-Mercedes
6. Carlos Sainz - 1:25.327 / Toro Rosso-Renault
7. Fernando Alonso - 1:40.738 / McLaren-Honda
