HUNGARIAN GP - FREE PRACTICE #3 - RE-CAP & TIMES
While most were expecting another calm FP3 session with nothing out of the usual, there was plenty going on at Williams. Felipe Massa was reported to have been checked at the on-site medical centre following Friday's FP2. He was then taken to a nearby Hospital for further evaluation. This was due to the Brazilian reporting he was feeling dizzy and unwell.
Massa was cleared to participate Saturday but barely made it through half of FP3 before bringing his Williams back to the pits. He complained of the dizziness again and soon after the mechanics were seen taking out his car seat and floor pedals. Williams later confirmed that reserve driver, Paul di Resta would be taking over for the rest of the weekend as Massa is too unwell to compete.
It was Sebastian Vettel who took his Ferrari to the top of the time sheets with a new track record: 1:17.017. He wasn't the only driver to dip into the 1:17's either. Team-mate, Raikkonen set a fastest time of 1:17.492 and Bottas a 1:17.914. Verstappen and Hamilton rounded up the top 5.
Daniel Ricciardo suffered from mechanical issues and managed to get his car off the track before it stopped, smoke coming from the back. He wasn't the only one to suffer either. Ericsson and Alonso also encountered problems with their cars during the session.
