FRENCH GP - FREE PRACTICE #1 - RE-CAP & TIMES

Mercedes led the first practice session of the weekend and it was Lewis Hamilton taking the top spot with a 1:32.231. Bottas wasn't far behind with a 1:32.371.

Daniel Ricciardo, who is rumoured to be heading to McLaren in 2019, finished behind them in third, while both Ferrari drivers competed the top 5. Raikkonen finished 4th with a 1:33.003 and Vettel in 5th with a 1:33.172.

Marcus Ericsson crashed toward the very end of the session at Turn 11 and the Sauber was soon up in flames. The car was damaged quite a bit from the whole ordeal but Ericsson was not injured, despite the heavy impact. His team-mate, Leclerc, finished the session in 13th with a 1:34.513.

Max Verstappen missed quite a bit of the session due to mechanical issues with his Red Bull. Despite this, he still finished inside the top 10, in 7th, with a 1:33.331.

The hometown drivers, Grosjean, Gasly and Ocon finished 6th, 8th and 12th respectively.

Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen were also part of the top 10.
