Free Practice 2 got underway yesterday and luckily the weather was once again dry and clear. However, I have word that it's currently raining at Silverstone just ahead of FP3.
As for the second practice session, we saw many drivers struggle with engine problems, including Marcus Ericsson and Lewis Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas's engine cover actually came loose and started to flap off, while Vergne's front left tyre's nut popped off while he was on a lap, and he had to end the session early as did the others listed above.
Overall, it was still another good run for Mercedes AMG Petronas as they topped the times again. Force India started to struggle getting the steering right for the session, as the wind was really becoming an issue.
