Free Practice 2 - Re-Cap & Results

The second free practice session was full of interesting things, including the fact there was a record temp' for this season. The track temperature got up to a whopping 58° C. The super-soft tyres nearly turned to chewing gum out on the hot surface of the circuit.

Caterham had a handful of problems when Marcus Ericsson encountered an oil pressure problem and not long later, his team-mate, Kamui Kobayashi's car caught fire and he hopped out and even helped put out the flames! Go Kamui! Always great to see a driver lend a hand to the hard-working marshals and firefighters. Good sportsmanship is game.

It was another Mercedes 1-2 in this session with big time imrovements from both McLaren drivers and also the Ferrari's. Here are the final times.
