Ericsson & Nasr team up for Sauber 2015

After a tough 2014 season, Sauber is already hard at work preparing for 2015. This includes a completely different driver line-up. First announced was Marcus Ericsson. The young Swede who drove for Caterham in 2014 but parted ways before the end of the season. Caterham became the center of multiple financial and legal issues, forcing the team to withdrawal from Austin and Brazil. Marcus has already gotten a taste of driving in the Swiss team's car during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Their second driver for 2015 will be Felipe Nasr. Felipe, who competed in GP2 for Carlin in 2014 and was a reserve for Williams Martini Racing, will get to make his F1 racing this year. Felipe finished 3rd in the GP2 Drivers Championship.  While this is good news for the two young drivers, it leaves question as to what the future hold for Adrian Sutil and Giedo Van Der Garde. The 2 were part of Sauber's 2014 line-up, along with young driver Esteban Gutierrez, who now serves as Ferrari's Reserve driver.
Completing Sauber's line-up is Italian driver, Raffaele Marciello, who will be their Reserve driver for the 2015 season. The Swiss team will be eager to get back into the groove of things with Pre-Season testing starting in just a few days.

Haas F1 - America's new F1 Team

Formula 1 currently has 11 teams competing in the Championship, but in 2012, there was a total of 12 teams. HRT-Cosworth was a back-marker team, who was unable to fund a 2013 entry. There was a lot of speculation that in 2014, we would be back to a total of 12 teams. Of course, they were only rumours.

But, earlier this year, the FIA allowed people to submit applications for future teams. A man named Gene Haas was granted a special license to start a US entry. Gene, 61, currently co-owns a Nascar team & also owns Haas Automation. While he doesn't plan on finalizing the team and debuting it until 2016, people have already begun guessing a handful of names that might make the future Haas F1 line-up.

Oringally, Gene planned on calling the team "Haas Formula", but recently changed it to "Haas F1" - The reason being, everyone will recognize it more if it's "F1" instead of "Formula". Gene plans on the base being located in North Carolina, and he's already confirmed they will be using Ferrari engines.

Driver suggestions have inlcuded names such as: Alexander Rossi, Susie Wolff and Danica Patrick.

More info on the team will be coming throughout the year, so check back soon!

California native, Alexander Rossi will drive in Free Practice 1 during the Canadian and US Grand Prix Weekends, for Caterham, his current team where he is a reserve/test driver. Rossi is one of the few drivers who are being talked about for the newly signed Haas F1 Team.

Rossi has 3 Championship titles, (Formula BMW World, Formula BMW America and Skip Barber Western Regional), and is looking to race for Formula 1 as part of a main-line up soon.

Pastor Maldonado confirmed at Lotus for 2014.

It was made official today by the Lotus Team and by Romain Grosjean that Pastor Maldonado would partner him at Lotus in the 2014 season. Many believed the second driver would actually believe Nico Hulkenberg, but unfortunately the deal did not go through and instead the drive goes to the former Williams driver.

Grosjean sent out a tweet on his Twitter today, welcoming Pastor to the team.

More to come on the subject soon.
