Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - "My star driver of the Brazilian Grand Prix is 18-year-old Max Verstappen. Once again the rookie has shown incredible maturity and understanding of his car. This was specifically obvious on track as he overtook several cars, earning a significant amount of attention.

These overtakes were some of the best from the race. This fact was highlighted as Hamilton declared it was impossible to overtake on the Interlagos track as he crossed the line second. Some could argue Max's ability to overtake in such extreme, high-pressure circumstances is due to recklessness but others could argue his overtake was that of a champion. Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard would agree (as he stated on BBC's live F1 coverage). Congratulations to Max on continued success in the overtaking department. I look forward to seeing the moves you make in the final race of the season!"

This weekend Max managed to cross the line in fourth place, equalling his best finish of the season. What an incredible accomplishment! Each race Max matures and shows incredible talent within the way he composes his car on track. His devotion to his career is easy to see as he overtakes cars and cautiously guides his car around corners. Congratulations on a fantastic finish, Max! Here's to many more!"

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Japanese GP

Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - "For the second time in a row, my star driver is Max Verstappen. Once again, I find myself praising his overtaking. The precision behind each move he makes is similar to that of a world champion; one manoeuvre made with the next one in mind. Max finished ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. (Tenth place) as he crossed the line in ninth, warning two points. For the young Toro Rosso drivers, a double points finish is something to be proud of. Once again, I'd like to congratulate Max and Toro Rosso on racing so spectacularly. His confidence and skill seems to be growing with each race."

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My star driver of the weekend is Nico Hulkenberg. It was absolutely wonderful to see him bounce back after a few unlucky retirements in the past few races. He brought the team a number of points and finished 6th. He really did drive flawlessly and it could be seen all around the circuit. I think Force India has been doing improvingly well since the updates and I can't wait to see how they perform in Russia."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Singapore GP

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Alexander Rossi - For multiple reasons. Not only is he the first American to drive in F1 since 2007, but he made his debut at one of the trickiest circuits and finished 14th. I'm excited to see how he does in the other 4 races that he will be competing in. It's really great to see him finally driving an F1 car."

Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - My star driver of the Singapore GP weekend is Max Verstappen. The young driver raced with an incredible pace this weekend. It was quite obvious that he felt more confident in the car. This was especially evident in his incredible overtaking which made yet another appearance this weekend.

Despite this high point, the rookie did disobey team orders during the race. When asked to let his team-mate, Sainz, pass him, he swiftly replied with a harsh "No!". I feel this can be overlooked as Verstappen maturely offered an explanation for his actions, stating that he felt he had good pace. Overall, Max Verstappen has matured hugely since the start of the season. Toro Rosso have turned him into a confident and skilled driver that can take a place slyly and suddenly."

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Sebastian Vettel. It doesn't need too much of an explanation, really.. With it being his first year at Ferrari, to get a podium at Monza is a pretty big deal and you could see how excited the crowd was. Vettel is definitely in a new chapter of his F1 career since leaving Red Bull. I believe we will see him winning more races in the future with the Italian team. Who knows? Maybe he'll win in Singapore - We'll see."

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Romain Grosjean. He now has a total of 10 podiums and he's definitely going to be a top-seat contender soon. He did a lot to get that podium and was just passing everyone in the final laps. It was great to see a Lotus back up in the top, especially after the team had quite a rocky start to the season. Grosjean has a lot of talent and I think there will be more to see from him."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Hungarian GP

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Sebastian Vettel. Not mainly because he won, but because of how he won. He didn't have an easy time making it across the finish line first. There were plenty of obstacles, but he really proved that he's helping Ferrari climb to the top this year and it's also great to see Vettel having a good time on the team and still enjoying the sport.

From the beginning of the race, you could tell he wasn't going to let this one slip away. He fought every lap to take the win & there were so many moments where it looked like someone else would catch up. Then there's always that horrible chance that there could be a bad pit-stop or a mechanical issue. But.. In the end, he did it and it was incredible."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The British GP

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Fernando Alonso. Not only was he finally able to get a point  but he fought so hard during the whole race, battling back from car damage due to the accident at the beginning and also battling with Ericsson towards the end of the race. It's really great to see McLaren doing better & also a great end to the race for Alonso after the accident in Austria with Raikkonen. It may be just 1 point, but there's so much more to come from the team. I'm sure of it."


Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - "I spent most of Sunday afternoon arguing with myself over this and only now have I reached my answer which now seems the obvious choice. Between the several drivers I was considering, Felipe Massa has come out on top! I seem to be choosing Felipe a lot this season. Well, more than others.

I think the first thing that caught my attention with Felipe was his incredible start. I mean, both Williams did a great job but Felipe! He was well away from the start line. It was like he was flying! I've been watching Formula 1 for my whole life and I can honestly say, I cannot recall ever seeing a start like that! It was simply mind blowing as he tore through the front row; it seemed he was unstoppable.

In addition to this, I'd like to bring his defensive driving to note. Felipe, although he may not have finished on the podium, lead the race for a significant amount of time. Long enough for it to cross my mind that he could win. Some can rule off his incredible performance as a coincidence. Others may say it's because he's driving with a Mercedes power unit. Yes these things can play a part but nothing can replace skill and experience and that's what we saw from Felipe on Sunday."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Austrian GP

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Nico Hulkenberg. Not just because of this weekend but also because of how he drove at Le Mans the previous weekend. I think it's been a huge confidence boost for him to win Le Mans and then qualify 5th on the grid for the Austrian Grand Prix. He took his car to the maximum, came away with a solid 8 points and with points from Perez as well, Force India is in 5th for the constructors championship and that overall is a great result.

I believe in time and with Force India getting their new car ready for Silverstone, the results will only get better."

Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) -  "My driver of the weekend is Felipe Massa. Felipe has improved with every race this season, having no rest from pushing his Williams into the points. I was not expecting to see him stood on the podium at the end of the race. It's not a secret that Vettel's Ferrari had the power to overtake Massa, but with experience comes skill, and that's exactly what Massa showed us as he held off the advancing Ferrari in the final laps of the race. Some people may see this as a one off, but what I saw on that race track was Massa stripping it back to the basics. He kept his cool and used moves that he knew were enough to keep Vettel behind him, and what do you know? There he was, on the podium!

Felipe Massa is an incredible driver and I don't believe he gets enough recognition. Sure, he may not be a championship winner, but he was so close and he never lost the quality of performance. So, I'd like to recognise Massa and his talent and congratulate him on being able to perform so outstandingly."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Canadian GP

Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - "This is one really hard decision. So many drivers showed some incredible skills this weekend, especially when it came to overtaking. However, I think the driver that has earned this title for me has to be Romain Grosjean. The Frenchman has had a very difficult couple of seasons and it's been fantastic to see him come back fighting. When Grosjean battled his way through qualifying, I must say I was incredibly impressed, especially to see him with such confidence, pushing forward. He said he was hoping for a top 6 on the grid, in fact, he did achieve this. He actually managed to get the Lotus to fifth with his teammate just behind. Maybe Lotus are on their way back to the top?

In addition to Romain's incredible performance in qualifying, he managed to hold onto a points position, finishing in tenth place. Some of you may not think this is a fantastic performance but I cannot refuse a driver who has performed so flawlessly throughout the weekend, their well deserved glory. Romain Grosjean is an incredible driver who battled with top teams on a narrow track to achieve tenth place. If that's not worthy of praise, I don't know what is. Congratulations Romain, you've wowed me once again!"

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is once again Valtteri Bottas. Last time I talked about his driving I was saying how close he was to getting back to the podium and he did it. He brought Williams another podium finish and it was quite the drive. I have no doubts he'll have a good chance at getting with one of the top teams in the next year or so.

I think Bottas came into the sport as quite the underdog and he's really impressed. If you're not already a fan, you should definitely keep an eye out. He's got Champion potential."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Spanish GP

Frances Fry (Assistant Writer) - "For me, this weekend was an easy choice, although I was ready for it to be very difficult. As soon as Rosberg crossed the line, I knew he was one to look out for in the coming races. Rosberg hadn't won yet this season until he stormed the track on Sunday. Many could've suffered a total confidence blow after not winning any of the first 4 races after the 2014 season Rosberg had. But not Nico. He kept his faith and used his strengths. After a fantastic qualifying on Saturday, Nico took his silver arrow to the top of the podium! He looked particularly comfortable on the top step. I wonder how many more times we'll see him there this season?

As with most questions in F1, the only sure way of getting an answer is by staying tuned. Monaco is next, I wonder how Nico will do in Monte Carlo? A place he's always been comfortable, much like on the top step."

Amy Hawk (Lead Writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Jenson Button. I know he didn't get points or anything but he was able to get out there and give it his all, despite the situation with the car. He's been at McLaren a very long time and he knows the ups and downs of Formula 1 itself, yet always maintains a good attitude about any situation.

So yeah, he put up a great fight during the race and managed to get the car home in 16th. Like I said, the situation at McLaren is improving and you can tell with each race they're learning more and more about the car and what needs to be fixed. I'm really hoping they're able to score points by the middle of the season."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Bahrain GP

Frances Fry (Assistant writer) - "My driver of the weekend is none other than Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen. Kimi performed fantastically and kept to his tradition of podium finishes in Bahrain. Finishing second gave Ferrari another boost in addition to Sebastian Vettel's win. It's good to see the red horses feeling good and back near the top!

Kimi drove with continuous skill and stayed focused throughout the entire race, his concentration didn't waver once. The Finn didn't miss any opportunities and as soon as the chance arose, he overtook who was ahead of him, which for a majority of the race was Rosberg. As we know, overtaking a Mercedes is like winning a battle (much like achieving any overtake). Ferrari have managed to do it now not only with Vettel but also will Raikonnen! If that doesn't prove their progress, I don't know what will.
Kimi deserves the points that he won in the race and it was great to see him back on the podium. Now he's gotten second I can't wait for him to get first. There's nothing like an array of winners in a Formula 1 season."

Amy Hawk (Lead writer & Editor) - "My driver of the weekend is also Kimi Raikkonen as I can't get over how thrilling it was to watch him battle with Nico Rosberg during the race. It's been awhile since we've seen Kimi on the podium and I was very happy for both him and Ferrari, who are just doing an incredible job so far this year, with multiple podiums and a win from Sebastian.

Kimi's had quite the career so far, with many wins and many podiums. There will definitely be more to come from him this year in the next GP's."

Amy Hawk (Main writer & editor) - "My driver of the weekend is Valtteri Bottas. I've been very impressed with the Fin's driving since he entered Formula 1 and he is one of my favorites in the sport. He's a very friendly guy and he has what it takes to be a future Champion. I think he had a great race in China and for sure he'll get some more podiums. Can't wait to see how he does in Bahrain."


Frances Fry (Assistant writer) - "My driver of the race weekend is Max Verstappen. The 17-year-old driver was one of the most talked about drivers between this season and last. Most of the attention was because of his age. Max is the youngest driver to ever participate in a Formula 1 race.

After the talk of him between the seasons I was very excited to see how he'd do on track. I must say, so far I have been very impressed but this weekend, I thought he deserved the credit that I'd given to others. Max may not have crossed the finish line or scored points in the race but he is consistent in his skill and has proven that he belongs on the race track with the older and more experienced drivers. His overtaking is spotless and is crafted carefully of precision, speed and experience.

Max Verstappen is without a doubt good enough to race in Formula 1. His first few races make his future look very promising. He's defying his age and making people proud. Well done, Max! Keep pushing forward!"

Feature: Star Drivers Of The Malaysian GP

Frances Fry (Assistant writer) - "My driver of the weekend has to be Sebastian Vettel. The race in Malaysia has proven to everyone that his move to Ferrari was worth while. Especially after the difficult season he had last year. Seeing him on the top of the podium was emotional for a lot of fans and viewers. In addition to this it was fantastic to see the Mercedes cars having to battle for their points with someone other than their teammate.

Sebastian Vettel has not only proven himself, he has also dragged Ferrari back to the top. If he's managed to win one he's capable of winning two. Who knows, maybe he'll even be a championship contender? It's only been the second race so it's a little too early to say. All I know for sure is Vettel is back and he's wearing red!

Frances Fry (Assistant writer) - "I thought this decision was going to be hard to make and I was right. After long consideration I've decided my driver of the weekend is Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso. 

The 20 year old rookie not only drove a strong race and crossed the line (which proved challenging for many drivers) but also scored points for his team! The Spaniard additionally qualified with excellent strength after getting into Q3 and setting a time worthy of 8th place on the grid. 

Before the season started I was intrigued by the drivers at Toro Rosso and after seeing the performance put out by them I'm even more excited. Carlos has blown me away and I'm extraordinarily excited to see where he'll be when the season comes to a close."

Amy Hawk (Lead writer & editor) - "My driver of the Australian GP weekend is Felipe Nasr, who is driving for Sauber-Ferrari this year. I know there's only been the opening race, but I can tell he's getting the hang of the car very well. 

I knew he was talented from watching GP2 and seeing him on the podium multiple times, so it was great to hear about him landing a seat this year in F1 and I'm already very impressed with how he's done so far. To finish 5th in your debut F1 race is a great result. He brought points to the team and he drove remarkably. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how he does in Malaysia."

Amy Hawk - "My driver of the weekend is Nico Hulkenberg. Although Force India had a tough weekend, Nico managed to get back to scoring points. He finished 8th, gaining 4 points for the team and he even had the lead for awhile. I think overall his pace this weekend was quite well and I know he'll be eager to score points at Abu Dhabi."

Frances Fry - "My driver of the weekend has got to be Felipe Massa. Not just because it was his home race but because he managed to finish on the podium! Despite finishing below his teammate regularly, this driver is determined and knows what he's aiming for. I couldn't be happier that Felipe got a podium in Brazil! What a way to (nearly) end your first season in a new team! 

It's only his second podium this season but I think he has successfully moved teams which is a great achievement. He has settled in at Williams very well and is obviously very comfortable and confident within the team. Confidence is key for success and I believe that is exactly what this driver achieved this weekend."

Feature: Star Drivers Of The American GP

Amy Hawk - "My driver of the US GP weekend is Daniel Ricciardo. 

I think he's really done well at proving that he's meant to be with the Red Bull team. He has fantastic pace, works well with the team and is always focused.

He fought back from some car issues during Free Practice 1 and made it on to the podium on race day. He held back both Williams drivers to secure 3rd and I think he did a great job."

Frances Fry - "Although this driver didn't complete more than one lap of the race, my driver of the weekend has to be Sauber's Adrian Sutil. 

Throughout the entire weekend Sutil managed to get the Sauber beyond where it was expected to be. It's no secret Sauber haven't had an easy season and I think this really shows that the progress we've all been saying they've been making has really happened. 

What really tipped the scales for me was not only the fact that he qualified in 10th place but that after the start of the race he managed to hold that place! Although he didn't actually complete a lap, I must say, Adrian Sutil has really impressed me and I cannot wait to see how high he can take the Sauber in the next (and last) 2 races!"
